“An Autopsy” - The Faceless
The Faceless are probably one of the best face-metal bands on the metal surface today. Yes, there are several amazing metal groups operating at the moment, and several of them are extremely talented and several of them are really heavy, but even though The Faceless have been given a machete by Satan to hack the living shit out of everyone, they somehow manage to retain a very unique, almost spacey atmosphere that sort of resides in the background of their insanity and evil sound.
I went to see this group earlier this summer without having heard any of their music. Before they went on, about 4 or so pretty bad hardcore bands went on. I was getting terribly bored and couldn’t wait for this apparently amazing band to show up. As soon as they went on, it was almost as if a shock of electricity had just entered by body. I almost felt as if their music was a physical force that could force me back if it so desired. Not only is it technical, it’s brutal. Not only is it brutal, it’s also extremely well composed. Not only is it just some of the heaviest music I’ve ever listened to, it’s electrifying to listen to.
If you’re into the most of extreme kinds of metal, definitely give The Faceless a listen if you haven’t. They’re definitely the top-tier group when it comes to absolute brutality.
